Softick jApploader SE , a tool to upload J2ME application to Samsung phones released!

Today Softick announced availability of Softick jApploader SE. The software makes it possible to upload Java applications and games (J2ME) to selected Samsung phones using USB data cable. Application uses built-in network stack and doesn't use costly wireless traffic including WAP. Softick jApploader SE replaces combination of Softick PPP and third party application which were used to upload J2ME application by simple all-in-one solution at lower price. 
A free trial download is available, full version costs $9.95 to register.

Requires Microsoft Windows XP Service Pack 2 or better and Samsung PC Suite installed.

Softick Audio Gateway Preview for Mac OS X 10.4 (Tiger) is available

Softick Audio Gateway lets stream music using A2DP/AVRCP to Bluetooth stereo headphones and headset on Mac OS 10.4 or better.

Softick Card Export let use your phone as convenient USB Mass Storage device to browse, copy, move file and folders on storage cards using familiar tools like Windows Explorer or Mac OS X Finder without using separate card reader. Softick Card Export was originally developed for Palm OS platform where it quickly became of best-selling titles. Softick Cache for Palm OS is available for download!

Softick Cache is an adaptive "disk" cache for flash cards used in Palm OS PDA and smartphones. It speeds upcard access by using faster dynamic memory instead of slower SD/MMC card and SD host controller.

A public beta is available. We hope this new product resolves performance issues with SD/MMC cards and NVFS found in some Palm OS devices. We will love hearing your feedback!

Softick Audio Gateway 1.12 with Treo 755P support released.

Audio Gateway Configuration:

1. Seven bitrate levels added to allow users to choose optimal sound quality. Lower bitrates may be enough for low-quality sources and also requires less CPU/Radio power.

Troubleshooting options:

1. "Disable extra buffering" allows to eliminate sound skipping for some headsets with small memory buffers, when headset just skips audio data sent by Softick Audio Gateway to fill headset's audio buffers.

At the same time, larger buffers make possible to recover radio transmission problems for headphones who can pre-buffer audio data and fill unexpected bitstream pauses. This option depends on target headset only, so decide what is better for your case.

2. "No disconnection on idle" resolves power problems with some headsets, for example Motorola HT820 (earlier firmware versions). Uncheck this option to save headset and handheld power, of course if you have no playback problems with your headset.

Quality Tweaks:

1. "Faster Analysis". This option was used in all earlier versions of Audio Gateway. When this option is checked, faster audio processing routines are used, but sound quality is a bit worse, especially for basses.

2. "Simple Bits Allocation" allows to choose SNR bits allocation method instead of LOUDNESS. The last one is slower, but provides a better sound quality. (This option will be applied only after reconnection). Refer A2DP specification for more details.

3. "Use Generic Stereo Only" disables JOINT STEREO encoding. We recommend to uncheck this option for better quality.

4. "Disable Volume Control" prevents Audio Gateway from using volume scaling routines. When this option is checked, Palm OS software volume control will not work, but headset will receive unscaled audio which is more "natural" than scaled. Moreover, volume can always be changed directly at the headset.

I should mention that all sound quality settings in all previous builds were used similar to "Faster Speed" profile rather than "Better Quality". Now we give our users much more possibilities to choose their own quality/performance balance.

Softick has released first public beta of Card Export Suite. Card Export is an application to copy the data on your computer to the Secure Digital or MultiMedia Card (SD/MMC) on you Palm handheld without performing HotSync(r) operation.

You can use flash card as a logical disk and access all data from the card from Windows Explorer!

FIX: Windows 2000 fails to load MiniCard.sys

Windows 2000 fails to install and load MiniCard.sys due missing functions that can only be found on Windows XP systems. After such unsuccessfull installation Windows 2000 fails to boot saying that "MiniCard.sys linked with missing function InterlockedPushEntrySList".

We have fixed this bug and replace 1.07 on the web. Please download installation again. We are sorry for any inconvenience.
